What is Class 3 Driver Training?

A Class 3 Driver’s License allows you to drive

  • a single motor vehicle with 3 or more axles.
  • a motor vehicle with 3 or more axles that is towing a trailer with one or more axles (if the trailer is not equipped with airbrakes)

*Although no mandatory training is required for an Alberta Class 3 License, taking some form of driver education is highly recommended to prepare for the world of commercial driving.


Our Training Program Includes:

  • Essential Class 3 knowledge, delivered by highly experienced instructors
  • In-depth, personalized lessons - an “above-and-beyond” approach
  • Our average training time for Class 3 drivers is 2 four-hour sessions followed by a 2-hour mock road test to ensure you are ready when the time comes for testing


Registration Requirements

  • Must be over the age of 18
  • Must hold a valid Alberta non-GDL Class 5 Driver’s License


Class 3 Course Rates

Although the Ministry of Transportation does not mandate official training for a Class 3 License, it is highly recommended.

We offer practical, in-vehicle lessons with Canada’s best instructors at competitive prices.

Variable Driver Package


2-Hour Rate: $250 + GST

A minimum 4-hour session is required, depending on experience / capability.

Elite Driver Package

10 Hours: $1500 + GST

Includes Alberta “Q” Air Brake endorsement.

Alberta Air Brakes Endorsement “Q”

Theoretical and Practical Knowledge of Operating Vehicles with Air Brakes


Air Brake Training

Any driver who wishes to operate an air brake-equipped vehicle is required to have a Q endorsement on their license, including Class 1 and most Class 3 vehicles.
